About our Farm
Back to Roots Farm started in 2015. We decided as a family that fresh eggs would be a great addition to our diet. We converted an old dog house into a chicken coop. We each picked a chick and ended up with 3 roosters and one hen. Goats for milk and cheese were next. We started raising pigs and meat chickens so we could give them the best life possible and know exactly what we were eating. As predictable as the day turns to night, the wild bears, coyote, osprey and neighbor dogs started coming around. We knew our animals needed protection. We did not know at the time how effective the right guardian dogs would be. We have never lost an animal to a predator since the dogs have been working over 4 years now.
